A MUTARE man suffered a double loss of losing his wife to a police wife as well as proceeds from the rentals of their Dangamvura matrimonial home to the woman who broke his heart and her sister.
Tererai Mugore decided to let the world know of his predicament after dragging his estranged wife, Harmfree Tapera and her sister, Enia to Mutare Civil Court praying that the court bars them from collecting rentals from their matrimonial home.
The court heard that Enia occupied the house despite Mugore and Harmfree having gone separate ways.
Infidelity allegations led to the breaking down of Mugore and Harmfree’s marriage, with the later accused of dating a police officer who was then stationed at Sakubva Police Station.
The court heard that the estranged couple got married under Chapter 5:11 and the marriage which was blessed with two children is still to be annulled.
Said Mugore in his affidavit: “In 2002, I bought a residential stand in Pegasus from the proceeds from my workshop at Murahwa Greenmarket. I completed constructing my house in 2008. In 2006, I encountered marital problems due to Harmfree’s adulterous affair with a police officer who was stationed at Sakubva Police Station and we parted ways.
“My wedded wife and the police officer later got married and had two children, although one of them is now late. All this was done despite the fact that we are still married under the Marriage Act.
“At one point I agreed with my ex-wife to use the proceeds from the house rentals to look after our two children until they reach the age of 18 or they are majors. In 2015, my estranged wife allowed her sister, Enia Tapera to occupy my house without my consent. They are even collecting rentals from that house.”
Harmfree and Enia did not oppose the application.
