adminteam visited the Copac headquarters in Harare yesterday, delegates were queing to be accredited.
Zanu-PF Copac Co-chairperson Cde Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana said most centres had been completed, except Manicaland Province.
“The process went well across the country and most centres have completed the accreditation process. Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Matabeleland North and South provinces have been completed while Manicaland is almost complete.”
Cde Mangwana said their personnel would remain at some centres to attend to anyone who might have been left out. “We will wind up tomorrow and deal with anyone who might come at the last minute,” he said.
Cde Mangwana said over 500 delegates from civil society had been accredited.
MDC-T Copac Co-chairperson Mr Douglas Mwonzora concurred.
“The conduct of the accreditation was exemplary, it was very cordial and we hope that if this continues we will have a successful second all stakeholders’ conference.
“We had minor problems in Manicaland with our machines, but that was eventually sorted out and the accreditation resumed well. We will wind up the process tomorrow,” he said.
At least 1 100 delegates are expected to attend the conference with other delegates being parliamentarians and representatives of political parties.
Journalists would be accredited on Friday.
