Snoop Dogg — who recently began using the moniker Snoop Lion — arrived at the party just as it was being shut down. He is understood to have been co-operative.
TMZ reports that no citations were issued at the event.
The 41-year-old “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” rapper had already started his celebration much earlier, tweeting around midnight: “happyholidays #snoop420”.
Following, he retweeted a bunch of his fans who dedicated the day to Snoop, including social media statements such as: “420 – A day dedicated to @SnoopDogg #snoop420”.
Tickets for the Annual Snoop Lion 420 Festival on Eventbrite.com ranged in price from US$150- US$1 500 depending on the partygoer’s status.
Pictures by SunOfHollywood.com, taken before the bash was locked down, show pictures of Snoop adorning the walls and a bevy of ladies waiting for the main guest.
On Thursday, Snoop’s son “Spanky Danky” Broadus — who has been charged eight times for drug-related crimes — posted pictures of himself using a two-foot tall bong and smoking a joint.
The 18-year-old has been advocating for a complete legalisation of the drug and so unabashedly smokes from the giant devices that may even be too much for his self-confessed ‘“stoner” father.
“Would there be love if it wasn’t for bud. #CouldYouBeLoved,” the 18-year-old wrote alongside the picture of him with the joint.
The weed campaigner — whose own rap songs include “Rollin, Rollin, Rollin”, “Stoned” and “Commemoration of Vaporisation” — ironically attacked those who smoke tobacco cigarettes over marijuana, saying people needed to “give weed a chance”. — Daily Mail.
