THE Zimbabwe Republic Police has recovered an AK rifle in the Zambezi River after a search of the giant water body by the ZRP Subaqua Unit last Sunday.
“On 20 September 2026, members of the ZRP Subaqua Unit recovered an AK rifle with a magazine loaded with 20 rounds in the Zambezi River, Kanyemba area.
“The rifle belongs to ZimParks (Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority) and was lost during routine anti-poaching patrols along the Zambezi River,” said ZRP in a statement.
ZRP urged the public to engage the police Subaqua Unit for all underwater rescue and recovery operations.
