POLICE in Plumtree have launched a manhunt for a Bulilima man who killed his neighbour for proposing love to his teenage girlfriend.
The incident occurred in Figtree area.
Andrew Ncube, 22, saw his neighbour Lloyd Sibanda, 22, escorting his 16-year-old sweet heart, Ellar Mpofu and later learnt that Sibanda had been proposing love to her. An enraged Ncube picked up a concrete slab and struck Sibanda on the head resulting in him sustaining serious injuries. The officer commanding Bulilima-Mangwe District, Chief Superintendent Macdonald Samuriwo, said Sibanda died on Wednesday last week at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo.

“We are investigating a murder case of a man who stoned his neighbour. The now deceased person was in the company of his younger brother when he came across Ellar Mpofu as she was on her way home in the company of her two siblings.  Sibanda started proposing love to Mpofu and their siblings followed behind at a distance,” said Chief Supt Samuriwo.
