Cosafa pay tribute to The Herald

COSAFA have paid tribute to The Herald for helping them make this year’s tournament a big success. Petros Kausiyo, The Herald’s Deputy Sports Editor, helped COSAFA with the ‘ball-by-ball’ live reporting of the tournament.

And COSAFA have now officially thanked The Herald, in general, and Kausiyo, in particular, for helping them run a successful tournament.

“A big word of thanks to you for your very hard work and efforts contributing to the successful running of the 2015 COSAFA CUP,” COSAFA official, Lynda Greef, said in a message.

“Thanks so much for yet again stepping up to the plate and offering your services for the ‘ball by ball’ live reporting for our recent tournament.“This offering off our COSAFA website has proven to be a fabulous and highly successful platform of engagement with the fans who do not have easy access to stadia and alternate forms of media.

“The visits to cosafa.com spiked dramatically during each game reporting, and most visitors remained with the live reporting right to the end of the game.

“The success of this process and engagement has attracted the attention of and extraordinarily positive comments from many football aficionados and associations both in Africa and abroad.

“We are extremely mindful of the skill, professionalism and knowledge required to report to an unseen audience, and retain their attention through vibrant, accurate and informative reporting.

“You do a perfect job PK (Petros Kauisyo), and it was an absolute pleasure having you with us as an integral member of our media team at the tournament.

“Your willingness to assist with many non-related matters — write the odd piece for us following press conferences, flexibility and great humour while filing copy back to base certainly went along way to making my job a lot lot easier.

“I also particularly want to thank you for being ever vigilant and picking up and highlighting last-minute changes to lineups and the odd small error — a regular eagle eye. We are grateful for your dedication, attention to detail and mindfulness of the COSAFA pursuit of perfection.”
