ZANU PF Zibagwe-Chirumanzu Ward 2 Councillor, Mr Basil Mutosvori, has applauded local organisations for complementing Government efforts to ensure that no one and no place is left behind in accessing critical services, particularly health care for marginalised communities.
His remarks followed a donation of mobility devices to 28 people, including the elderly and young people, by Greenlight International Trust (GLIT) on Saturday.
“We are happy when local organisations complement the Government’s efforts in making sure that no one and no place is left behind,” said Councillor Mutosvori.
“Government is putting in efforts to reach those in marginalised areas so that they get access to critical services and the work being done by Greenlight International Trust is commendable.
“Organisations should also chip in and help those in need. This shows oneness, especially when a local organisation helps its own community.”
GLIT founder and managing director, Mr Tawanda Makwiramiti, said his organisation remains committed to empowering persons with disabilities and enhancing access to essential health and rehabilitation services.
“Through our community engagement initiative, we distributed over 28 mobility devices, including wheelchairs to people with disabilities,” he said.

“This is part of our larger mission to empower individuals with disabilities and support their rehabilitation.”
Mr Makwiramiti also announced that GLIT will soon break ground on a 20-hectare health hub dedicated to rehabilitation services for children with severe disabilities as well as victims of drug and substance abuse.
“This hub will provide specialised care and support to those in need,” he added.
“So far in 2025, we have assisted 103 individuals, including 65 in Binga and we are determined to continue expanding our outreach before year-end.”
Mr Makwiramiti added that the project requires collective effort and called for skilled volunteers and financial support.
“We look forward to individuals who can assist us in constructing this facility, as it requires a helping hand to be successful. We need builders, engineers, architects and funding to make this dream a reality,” he said.
GLIT, he said, is built on the spirit of compassion and collaboration.
“The work of Greenlight International Trust cannot progress without a helping hand,” Mr Makwiramiti said.
“Our organisation is a platform for all those who have a heart to help others. We do not help because we have plenty, but because we have passion, love and the will to do it.
“I therefore call upon well-wishers and sponsors to come and join hands with us as we change lives in Zimbabwe.”
