A backyard factory in Mbare was raided and closed down on Friday for producing and selling counterfeit Satiskin foam bath products.

Health, hygiene, and beauty products manufacturer, MedTech Holdings Limited, acted on a tip-off from the community and worked with the police to close down the backyard factory.

“We immediately informed the police upon learning about the fake Satiskin and there was a raid on the production facility in Mbare,” said MedTech in a statement.

MedTech warned consumers to be vigilant and look for signs of fake Satiskin products such as mismatched lids, damaged packaging, incorrect aroma, and watery consistency.

It also urged consumers to monitor skin reactions.

Fake toothpaste, beverages and chemicals have also flooded the Zimbabwean market.
