A MARRIED couple appeared in court yesterday accusing each other of being violent.
Getrude Ushamba told the court that her husband, James Nyamusi, was abusive and assaulted her in front of their kids.
‘‘He is of a violent nature.
‘‘l have a broken arm because of him, and sometimes he chases me out of our bedroom.
‘‘When l go to sleep with the kids, he then comes and forces me to have sex with him in front of the kids.
‘‘Today, l came to court after escaping through the window, as he had locked me inside the house and came here alone.
‘‘l am still wearing my pyjamas as you can see,’’ she said.
James denied the allegations saying he had never laid a hand on her although they argue like any other couple.
James was asked by magistrate Tamara Chibindi why his face was swollen?
‘‘She assaulted me with her friends. She is acting like a victim, but actually I’m the one who is suffering.
‘‘Yesterday I just touched her and she fell, but now I’m being blamed for breaking her arm which is actually not broken, but an act.’’
Magistrate Chibindi granted them protection orders against each other and advised them to live peacefully.
