A HARARE woman has been granted a protection order against her husband’s girlfriend after convincing the court that she was interfering in her marriage.

Ivy Mukonzongi accused her husband’s girlfriend, Grace Gunda, of disturbing her peace and wrecking her marriage.

“She texts me threatening to send me bad omens.

“On one occasion, she told me that she was going to get my husband fired from work so that the children and I would suffer,” said Ivy.

Grace did not oppose the application, but told the court that she was not a girlfriend, but the second wife.

“I do not call or text her. I only talk to my husband about the welfare of our child. Sometimes, when I call, she is the one who responds and l just tell her I want to speak to my husband,” said Grace.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi ordered Grace not to insult or send messages to Ivy.
