Court grants businessman protection order against sons

his two sons who are fighting to take over his businesses without his approval.
Mazarura who operates Mazarura Bus Services, supermarkets and butcheries, told Harare Civil Court Magistrate Ms Lynn Manyika yesterday that his sons: Chris and Malcom Mazarura were disturbing his business activities and harassing him.
“They always come to my business premises disturbing my business activities by sending or chasing away my workers threatening to close down my business operations.
“Recently, they came to the garage and took away my keys, locking up all the doors before evicting the workers telling them that they want to work alone.
“Some time ago, I tried to incorporate them in the business, but I ended up evicting them because of their behaviour,” he said.
Mazarura told the court that his sons want to takeover his businesses, yet he gave them their share and failed to run them.
“They say they want to take over my businesses yet I gave them some buses, cars and a fully stocked shop to operate but they sold them all and closed the shop.
“I sent the other to a ‘luxurious’ university in the United Kingdom for four years, but he came back empty-handed.
“I sent him again to United States of America where he spent three years but again he came back empty-handed.
“I tried to send him to Speciss College for him to take a management course so that I would involve him in the running of the business but he failed to do it,” he said.
Mazarura told the court that Chris and Malcom came to his farm harassing him and accusing him of many things.
Chris and Malcom did not oppose their father’s application and magistrate Ms Lynn Manyika granted the protection order.
