Court leaves cops smiling

Masvingo magistrate Mr Jabulani Mzinyathi last week ordered Paramount Money Lending firm to restitute two police officers, Emilda Munyaradzi and Erinoz Kuzipa after they approached the courts seeking to recover their capital investments in the collapsed firm. The pair, who were represented by Mr Rodney Makausi of Saratoga Makausi Law Chambers approached the courts after Paramount Money Lending firm failed to pay them back their investments which they made two years ago. Mr Mzinyathi gave Paramount Money Lending firm, represented by Mr Isaac Muzenda of Muzenda and Partners, 10 days to pay the pair their capital investments or have their property attached.

Munyaradzi had invested a total of US$3 700 while Kuzipa had invested US$2 000. Sometime in 2011 Munyaradzi and Kuzipa went to Paramount Money Lending firm in Masvingo and invested US$3 700 and US$2 000 respectively on the premise that they were going to be paid some interest.
However, Paramount Money Lending firm failed to pay the two policemen their money back together with interest after the firm was shut down by the central bank for operating illegally.
The two policemen then approached the courts seeking to get back the money they had invested.
