COVID-19: President in virtual conference

President Mnangagwa today held a video conference with seven other Heads of State and Governments that are neighbours with South Africa to share information and experiences on the Covid-19 pandemic and explore ways to prepare for the aftermath of the disease.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa convened the meeting which lasted more than three hours as each country gave its thoughts on how to deal with the pandemic.

Some of the issues that came out were on how to collaborate procurement of equipment, sharing of information on any developments a member country would be taking, synchronisation of immigration policies so as to enhance regional integration.
Countries that attended today’s meeting were Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, eSwatini, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa and were represented by their Heads of State and Government.
