Cowdray Park DJ in trouble

A POPULAR Cowdray Park Disc Jockey who would constantly hire out his public address system, as well as perform at opposition party functions is wanted for questioning for convening illegal meetings.

Ronaldo Sibanda was well known for his loud PA equipment which was hired out for the hosting of weddings and private parties.

He was also a well-known event organiser, where he would also organise bashes at a number of schools in the suburb.

However, his popularity, according to neighbours had seen him being approached by members of the opposition the Citizens Coalition for Change who had been hiring his equipment for him to also play at their functions.

“Since he started performing in opposition political meetings he was now a target as the police accused him of convening illegal gatherings and inciting people to demonstrate against the government.

“However, he denied this claiming that for him it was only a service which he was providing and being paid for as he also had to make a living and fend for his family,” said a neighbour who declined to be named.

Police sources revealed that Sibanda was wanted for questioning after neighbours had raised a red flag over his alleged activities.

“The issue was basically that he would convene illegal political meetings using his influence in the suburb and would also call on the youth to engage in demonstrations against the government. The police just wanted to question him on these allegations but it seems he has gone into hiding hence we call on anyone who might have information on his whereabouts to duly advise us,” said the source.

Sibanda’s acquaintances revealed that he had since gone into hiding as he felt he was being unfairly targeted for his business, which linked him with the opposition.
