Cozzy Kozile brings music legends together for “Ngoma Yejit” album release

Australia-based Afro-fusion artiste Cozzy Kozile has assembled a strong line-up for the launch of his fourth album, set to take place in Kwekwe this August.

Veteran dendera musician Allan Chimbetu headlines the line-up, which also includes Peter Moyo, Pah Chihera, Agga Nyabinde, Ammi Jamanda, Ronnie Mudhindo, Trevor The One, and Kilamani, among other artistes. South Africa-based Wayne Jachi will also jet in for the show.

Kozile, who grew up in the mining town, will be launching the album titled “Ngoma Yejit” in his hometown for the first time at The Lit Leisure Centre on August 24.

The Afro-fusion artiste completed his primary and secondary education in Kwekwe before moving to Australia, where he now serves as the president of the Zimbabweans in Western Australia Association.

“I saw it fit to launch my fourth album in the presence of my friends and family. I grew up in Kwekwe, and I thought I should celebrate with friends and family. Some of my family members are flying in from Australia and other parts of the world. I’m expecting friends to come in their numbers to support the album launch,” he said.

Kozile mentioned that although his first album, “Uchandifunga” was launched in both Harare and Kwekwe, this time he wanted to show special respect to his hometown.

“The first album was launched in Harare, and we had a Kwekwe launch which was well attended. But this time, I decided to do it all in Kwekwe. If we are going to have a Harare show, then so be it, but we start in Kwekwe,” he added.

Kozile has three albums to his name: “Uchandifunga”, “Zimbabwe Kumba” and “Changamire”. The second album was launched in Australia and the third in Harare.
