CR7 set for £433m deal

LONDON. – Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed to sign a mammoth contract offer worth £433 million, which would make him football’s biggest earner ever.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Portuguese forward had received a three-year contract offer to the value of £186 million from Al-Nassr.

It was also claimed that talks were advanced between the player’s representatives and the Saudi Arabian club, with owner Prince Faisal Bin Turki said to be determined to sign the superstar.

According to Spanish news outlet Marca, the 37-year-old has now agreed to a lucrative contract worth £172.9 million a season for two-and-a-half years with Al-Nassr, and is close to putting pen to paper on the deal.

This move would see Ronaldo leave European club football and play for a team on a different continent for the first time in his career.

With his potential earnings over the duration of the reported contract set to be a mammoth £433 million, the veteran would also become football’s highest-paid player ever, with Kylian Mbappe currently holding that title with an annual income of £91 million, according to Forbes.

The former Real Madrid star was said to have rejected a move to Saudi Arabia in the most recent transfer window, while Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been linked with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner following his exit from Old Trafford last week.

However, the Blues have reportedly cooled their interest in the player, while the Bundesliga side’s CEO Oliver Kahn has confirmed they will not be signing him on a free transfer. – KickOff
