IT’S NO LONGER BUSINESS AS USUAL!
The Bulawayo City Council (BCC) has declared war on illegal traders and city centre hustlers saying either shape up or ship out!
In a bold move to clean up the chaos in the CBD, council bosses have ordered an immediate end to all rogue operations, from informal vending on pavements to backstreet car washes, street-side car repairs and the rogue movement of heavy trucks in the city centre.
“The City of Bulawayo would like to inform all traders operating from undesignated areas to comply with the city’s by-laws,” thundered a hard-hitting council notice.
From pushcart peddlers to car mechanics and kombi cowboys, no one is safe from the sweeping crackdown. The council says it’s done playing nice and anyone caught breaking the rules will face the music.
“We’re restoring order. No more washing cars on pavements. No more fixing engines on the roadside. No more heavy commercial vehicles clogging our streets,” warned city officials.
Designated trading spaces like Egodini and Bhaktas are up for grabs but for those who ignore the rules, it’s game over!
Stay tuned… the city cleanup is about to get real.
