WHO is the greatest Miss Zimbabwe of all-time?

It’s a tough one given the quality of the beauties who have captured the crown, the likes of Angeline Musasiwa, Brita Masalethuni and Malaika Mushandu, to name but a few.

Musasiwa, for instance, went on to represent the country at the Miss World and finished in the top four.

Angie, who was then a University of Zimbabwe student, finished fourth in a contest when by Indian Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Bachaan.

Brita was crowned Miss Zimbabwe in 1999 and went on to win Miss Malaika in 2001.

A leading online entertainment platform, earground, yesterday compiled the faces of the Miss Zimbabwe winners from 1980 and asked fans to choose who was their all-time favourite.

The feedback showed that the fans still have rich memories of the time when these beauty queens ruled the roost.

Below are some comments:

It’s one of the events that the nation really looked forward to yearly. I hope and pray that it comes back again. We need that as a nation, our fashion and beauty industry is dead. TJ Simende.

They are all so beautiful in different ways. I don’t have a favourite but I am interested to note that the producer of the award-winning movie, ‘Mirage,’ was once a Miss Zimbabwe. I always thought I recognised her from elsewhere… I even thought I saw her on ‘Idols’ (Africa) but may be mistaken. Sylvia Vassilatos.
