CRESTA Lodge Harare has opened the second block of its fully refurbished rooms ahead of the forthcoming season.
The new rooms are ideal for the modern business traveller. With the lodge’s mid-market focus, the new rooms provide modern creature comforts.
Addressing the media recently Cresta Hotels Zimbabwe operations manager Mr Bill Bruce said the refurbishments were made in consideration of what was all-the-rage with their clients at the moment.
“It is basically about listening to what your customers are requesting, and we have responded to that,” he said.
Mr Bruce said since the launch of the Sango Conference Centre earlier this year, the lodge has been receiving considerable meeting and conferences business, which has also been accruing benefits to the rooms business.
“Since the opening of the Sango Conference Centre, business has been brisk in view of the increasing conferencing business in Harare. We have also been receiving a significant clientele from the region, especially South Africa,” he added.
The refurbishment programme of the hotel is still ongoing, with renovations continuing at its remaining blocks.
The total cost of refurbishment is estimated to be just over US$5 million.
Meanwhile, Cresta Hotels will next month introduce special rates for its range of hotels across the country, with rates starting from US$37 per night bed and breakfast up to US$70 per night bed and breakfast.
Mr Bruce said the idea behind introducing the special rates is to tap into the domestic tourism market.
Domestic tourism has been on the rise in recent years, mainly from Zimbabweans in the Disapora but also from locals.
Most players tend to harness this tourism niche during holiday seasons by introducing special rates and promotions. The special rates will apply to the following hotels: Cresta Jameson, Cresta Oasis, Cresta Churchill, Cresta Lodge Harare and Cresta Sprayview.
