There will be activities to help the children to improve their co-ordination, agility and mobility and so enhancing their cricket skills.
To encourage them to mix and make new friends, the children will be put into random groups of 10 which will then move from point to point on the field where the activities will be conducted.
The activities will include adaptations of netball, soccer and rugby, target bowling, the under-arm and over-arm varieties of handball, hockey and other catching and hitting games.
The carnival is for children aged between nine and 12 and admission is free.
“We expect a lot of children to turn up and enjoy themselves while improving their cricket skills, and parents to come and watch the activities,” said the carnival co-ordinator, Nicholas Singo, who is also the Zimbabwe Cricket national development manager. — Zimcricket.
