Cricketer John Nyumbu gets UK contract

TUSKERS Cricket franchise off-spinner John Nyumbu has signed an undisclosed contract in the United Kingdom with Andover Cricket Club, where he will double up as a development coach.

The club announced the signing of the 36-year-old cricketer who has three Tests caps, 19 one day internationals matches and two T20 caps yesterday.

“The club can finally announce the signing of John Nyumbu, who will be the club’s overseas player.

“John is a prolific off-spinner and handy lower order batsman who has played for Zimbabwe in all three international formats.

“Alongside playing commitments, John will be heavily involved in the youth setup in a coaching capacity,” read a statement from Andover.

This is Nyumbu’s second stint in the UK, having played for Grantham Cricket Club, in the Lincolnshire County Board Premier League between May and September 2019.
