Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Madrid

KIEV. — Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo seems to have indicated he will leave the Spanish soccer club and has promised he will speak to the fans in the coming days. The Portugal star made the surprising comments after Real Madrid beat Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Karim Benzema and a brace from substitute Gareth Bale saw off a spirited Reds side. Liverpool suffered the early blow of losing Mohamed Salah to injury after he dislocated his shoulder.

Sadio Mane did equalise to make the score 1-1 but in the end Real Madrid came out on top. Ronaldo has sparked a frenzy of transfer speculation after comments made after the match though.

“It was very nice to be at Real Madrid,” he said on BeIn Sports. “In the coming days I will give a response to the fans, who have always been at my side.”

Ronaldo has been linked with a return to Manchester United in previous weeks with Jose Mourinho a known admirer of his countryman. And his comments would seem to indicate he could leave the Bernabeu this summer.

Ronaldo did admit to enjoying his fifth Champions League success though. “I have enjoyed this moment,” he explained. — The Daily Star.
