AFRO fusion artist, Amanda Maparuri, has vowed to win the hearts of many with her Extended Play (EP).
Titled Ahweeand, the EP consists of four tracks featuring local artists, who include Tocky Vibes.
In an interview with H-Metro, she said the EP was inspired by the daily lives of ordinary people.
“Our daily lives, as ordinary people inspired me, I took real life stories and applied them to my songs.
“I hope to change our society through my music, which gives people hope where it’s lost,” she said.
Amanda said she faced financial problems during the production and hinted that she was working on another project.
“I am currently working on videos for my EP and also a new song with artists from as far as the Caribbean Islands to work with me.
“However, the lack of money, during the time of recording, was a huge setback.
“I was later backed up by my new management who came along while I was working on the EP.”
Amanda has been holding a series of shows but financial constraints have been her biggest letdown.
