UK-BASED crooner and social worker, Tich Mutodi, has a new song targeting students.
He was raised in a humble background in Bikita before settling in the UK.
His new single, titled ‘‘Mukana Inguva,’’ which has an accompanying video, has a powerful message for students.
In an interview with H-Metro from his base in the UK, Mutodi explained the meaning of his single.
“This song was inspired by children in school who are not focusing on real educational issues due to rampant drug use and numerous external pressures/influences connected mainly to social media platforms.
“I wanted to redirect these children to recognise that they should utilise opportunities while they still have time and relevant resources at their disposal.”
He added: “John Kiss is the producer. This single was produced in just two days after serious rehearsals that began in the UK.
“Zimbabwe-based Congolese chanter, Dispatch, also featured in the song.
“He was very helpful.
“The song has a video coming out in a few days and the track is on YouTube.
“I also have a WhatsApp fan group and different other social media platforms where the song is making serious rounds.”
Mutodi, who is also a professional counsellor, has vowed to use his influence to change young people’s lives.
“The song is grounded in the real life issues that affect our children.
“It speaks about the need for everyone to reflect on their ‘being’, how we use our opportunities in life. It awakens everyone to the true realisation that they should enhance their reputation in whatever action they take in life.
“This is a slow rhumba song that doesn’t only address our needs for enjoyment but also impart knowledge in respect of our day-to-day life.”
Mutodi said he has since managed to fulfil some of his resolutions.
“One resolution fulfilled this year so far is that I managed to celebrate my country’s Independence while in Zimbabwe.”
