CUBAN ambassador to Zimbabwe Yenielys Vilma Regueiferos Linares has called for an immediate end to the genocide in the Gaza Strip by Israeli forces who have killed thousands of innocent Palestinians since October 7 last year.

Giving a solidarity message to the Ambassador of Palestine to Zimbabwe Dr Tamer Almassri yesterday, Ambassador Linares said the international community should renounce the genocide and Israel must withdrew their soldiers from Palestine.

Ambassador Linares was leading a 15-member Cuban delegation who visited the Palestinian embassy in Harare to offer their solidarity message.

“As Cuba, we call for an immediate ceasefire in the ongoing genocide against the people of Palestine in the Gaza Strip,” Ambassador Linares said.

“Last Saturday in Cuba, we had events of solidarity with Palestine in almost all the provinces of the country.

“We also had a big event here in Harare and we will always accompany you, our dear brothers and sisters.

“We ask the international community to renounce the unjust actions taking place in the Gaza Strip. It is not a secret for us that we have been struggling with the embargo of the American state which is the longest in the history of mankind,” she said.

The war in Palestine was not logical as it had resulted in the killing of innocent people.

“We call for the immediate ceasefire because the Israeli occupation is illegal and we will always count on the solidarity of the Cuban people and I am sure that you have the solidarity of the Zimbabwean people too,” Ambassador Tamer Almassri said.

“Today, the souls of our great comrades and fathers; the founders of our revolutions, Cde Fidel Castro and Cde Yasser Arafat are with us.”
