ZIMBABWE has received a boost in its medical sector with the arrival of 15 Cuban specialists who will be stationed at central hospitals across the country.
The specialists will be stationed at various central hospitals where they will assist the Ministry of Health and Child Care in improving delivery of healthcare services across the country.
The move will strengthen Cuban cooperation in the medical sector.
Cuban medical specialists have been working in Zimbabwe since 1980.
The Cuban ambassador, Yoisy Ford Garcia, has pledged to continue supporting the country in the field of medicine.
Ministry of Health and Child Care chief director, human resources and administration, Simon Nyadundu, said the specialists will assist the ministry improve delivery of healthcare services countrywide.
“We are very grateful that we are receiving 15 specialists, who include biometrical engineers, specialist clinicians and some legal specialists who are going to be working with us in the Ministry of Health.
“This is very significant because this will improve our health delivery services, particularly in the biometrical engineering department where they will assist in repairing equipment which is in various institutions in the country,” he said.
