DATES for the Chibuku Road to Fame provincial finals have been unveiled with the search for the country’s next best musical band set to start in Mutoko, Mashonaland East (KwaChief) and Gweru, Midlands (Leisure Lounge) this Saturday.
Thereafter, the competition will head to Manz’Amnyama Nightclub in Gwanda, Matabeleland South as well as Guruve Hotel, Mashonaland Central next week Saturday.
In Matabeleland North, the provincial finals will take place at Chinotimba Beerhall in Victoria Falls as well as Mutare, Manicaland at Nyausinzi on September 23.
Masvingo and Harare provinces will have their go on September 30 at Huruyadzo Gardens and Pfumojena Beerhall respectively.
Mashonaland West and Bulawayo provinces will wrap up the provincial finals with competition on October 7 at Chikangwe Tarvern in Karoi and koNjabulo Beerhall.
Organisers of the competition, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe in conjunction with Chibuku have called on unsigned, up-and-coming individual singers and groups across the country to participate in this year’s competition.
The competition has a rallying cry, “Imba Tinzwe, Cula Sizwe Super Star”.
For their efforts, winners will walk away with monetary prizes ranging from US$7 000 to US$15 000 plus a recording contract for those in pole position.
