THE Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust and EU Delegation have provided combined funding of US$49 264 to five projects in the country through the ongoing CreativeACTIONs2 project.
This comes after 42 other projects were awarded US$748 588 in June.
The initiative seeks to support artists, cultural practitioners, and vulnerable communities and has prioritised funding for people with disabilities, marginalised creators and women in rural communities.
The project, which encompasses a range of art forms, including music, dance, theatre, literary arts and fashion, aims to empower civil society, promote gender equality and provide skills development to practitioners in the arts and culture sector.
The Culture Fund and EU Delegation will offer further small grants funding between October and November.
“Individuals from the People with Disabilities (PWD) communities, marginalised and emerging creatives, and women from rural communities have been prioritised, based on demonstrated capacities to improve livelihoods.
“Through the Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust, the EU has committed 2 060 500 euros over 36 months to the CreativeACTIONs2 project,” the Culture Fund said in a statement.
“As part of this ongoing endeavor, the Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust and the EU Delegation have earmarked the next cycle of small grants funding, expected to take place between October and November 2023.
“Interested applicants are invited to access and download application forms directly from the Culture Fund.”
