Culture Week comes to Bulawayo

Bulawayo residents will today join the rest of the nation in celebrating the country’s diverse cultures. Running under the theme: “Celebrating Arts and Cultural Entrepreneurship”, the Culture Week celebrations, which began last Saturday with a national launch in Chinhoyi, will run up to May 23.

Fingers Modelling and Hair Academy director, Sarah Mpofu is expected to launch the Bulawayo celebrations today at Inyathi Youth Centre in Mpopoma. Umkhathi Theatre Works, Bambelela Arts Ensemble, Siyaya Arts, Impumelelo Shining Stars, Ezimnyama Arts, Victory Siyanqoba, Sungura Masters, Iluba Lemvelo, Bambelela Arts Ensemble, Isiphiwo Sami and Imbizo Primary School will provide entertainment.

Street marching by artistes and cultural activists, fashion shows, music and dance performances, herbal exhibitions and craft exhibitions are some of the activities which will be taking place during the week.
