Curtain comes down on Da Flow Sessions

Da Flow sessions are held every Saturday afternoon at Cape to Cairo.

Da-Flow Sessions have seen memorable performances from artistes such as Maskiri, POY, Mac, Kasi Lunatics and Centre Party.

The sessions, which are organised by a local website called www.da-grape-vine.com, are a platform for established as well as up-and-coming artistes of different genres to come together and perform with each other.

In an interview yesterday, one of the directors of the sessions, Naboth “Rizla” Remayi said they wanted to come up with new ideas for the sessions.

He said they would be back the first Saturday of October and would run until year end.

“We had noticed that the sessions were becoming monotonous so we decided to regroup and come up with new ideas for the sessions. We had a crowd and it was not growing so during next month we shall be working on ideas to make it more exciting,” said Rizla.

He said during the period they would consider whether or not to take Da-Flow Sessions to western suburbs and also sponsorship for the show.

“We have been considering that we should take Da-Flow Sessions to the people, so we might take it to places such as Nkulumane, Nketa, Lobengula and the like. We have a crowd and groups and artistes that perform there are from those suburbs,” said Rizla.

He said there was footage of the sessions that they would be editing during the break so that they could produce it for television.

“We are looking at editing the footage we got from performances during the 14 weeks that we have had Da flow Sessions. This will be for television so that people see what is happening in terms of music in Bulawayo,” said Rizla.

He thanked all those who supported the sessions as they realised their targets through their contributions.

“I would like to thank the individual groups, artistes and all who contributed to the fist season of the Da-flow Sessions. I would lie to thank the media especially Chronicle for giving us publicity as we try to create a platform for the local musicians,” said Rizla.

Artistes such as POY, Kasilunatics, Tammy Jubbs and MaDots released albums during Da-Flow    Sessions.

This week there will be a group called Masotsha live on stage, producer of the week and an open mic Session with Dj Mellow T.

Next week, at the final session, Young Solo will launch a mix tape.
