“It has the strongest strings of all the guitars I have used and of all my guitars. I will use it to galvanise the sound of sungura.
“I am so honoured to receive this best bass guitar. God has plans for me and the whole Orchestra Mberikwazvo,” said Macheso.
The guitar, which was described as “state-of the- art”, was presented to “Extrabasso” during the hand-over ceremony at Red Cross House.
Macheso vowed to continue with all his forthcoming shows despite the injury and the pain.
“Right now I am a bit laid back because of my injury, but I am not stopping whatsoever. Chokwadi ndechekuti mhuri haingafi nenzara nekuda kwegumbo rine chironda (The family comes first and I cannot starve my family because of an injury although I can feel the pain),” he said.
