Paul Pindani in CHINHOYI
A SENIOR lecturer in the Department of Tourism at the Chinhoyi University of Technology, Professor Patrick Mamimine, has been found in contempt of court by magistrate Rumbidzai Tshuma.
He was sentenced to a wholly suspended three months in prison, on condition that he doesn’t commit a similar offence, in the next five years.
The complainant in this case is his son, Anderson Mamimine.
Prosecutor Review Nikisi told the court that on April 8, at around 2:30pm, Anderson was in his room when his father entered and started talking to his other son Wayne.
The court heard that Anderson asked his father to leave his room, and he insulted him.
Anderson then pushed his father out of his room.
Prof Mamimine then went outside and continued insulting Anderson saying “handisi ini ndakakuita bofu waibira vanhu, mbavha”.
The State said Prof Mamimine breached the protection order against him granted to Anderson on March 27.
