CZA HIGH SCHOOL: SHAPING TOMORROW’S LEADERS

CENTRE Zimbabwe Africa High School headmaster, Mr Marecha, says the hard-working young people under his leadership are a credit to the school and an inspiration to everyone.

Running under the theme “Shaping Tomorrows’ Leaders”, the church is advancing its developmental goals in the education sector.

The church currently runs CZA Primary School and CZA High School.

Plans for the church’s college are at an advanced stage.

This year, girls dominated, with the likes of Pelonciki Mufuse ,Tanyaradzwa Muchalanji, Ashley Chakurungama, Vongai Mukomo, Kimberly Yotamu and Meloncia Anosi scooping overall best awards in academics.

Speaking at the third edition Speech and Prize Giving Day, Mr Marecha said it is through these achievements that they are able to see the commitment of staff as it embraces the Heritage-based curriculum towards vision 2030.

“On this beautiful day I would like to appreciate your sterling effort for being part and parcel of this juncture where we celebrate success and motivate learners to partake leadership roles at this school and beyond. Parents you are the pillars of this school, without your support all our efforts will go in vain.

“The school boasts of dedicated teachers who work tirelessly to mould learners to be future leaders and promote heritage-based curriculum. The school’s pass rate is soaring by each year.

“We managed to produce a multitude of learners with fifteen points in arts, commercials and sciences, with the lowest attaining nine points. Last year boys dominated in terms of scooping prizes.

“The school does not only focus on academics but also delves into co-curricular activities such as sport, music and public speaking, just to mention a few. This will help learners to integrate into the world easily. Our responsible authority has been instrumental over the years in supporting learners and the school as a whole. Without their material, moral and spiritual support, it will be difficult for us to excel.

“I appeal to all learners to effectively utilise knowledge, skills and attributes equipped on them and implement them as they are the future leaders of tomorrow as our school motto says ‘In Our Greater Minds The Future Lies,’” he said.

The guest of honour, Mr Kaitano, said the achievements by the outstanding learners is a reflection on the importance of shaping tomorrow’s leaders.

“There are challenges that are being encountered in this endeavour, some include climate change, which is affecting most of the parents or farmers in raising all that is necessary for school learners, economic hardships resulting in inequalities, technological disruption which is causing culture dilution and eradication.

“We should not leave out the cancerous syndrome: drug and substance abuse, which is affecting most of our youths. Today we are calling upon all stakeholders, every parent, every Zimbabwean citizen and teachers to collaborate our efforts in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

“Shaping tomorrow’s leaders requires collective effort. Let us work together to empower our young people to become the leaders we cherish. As Nelson Mandela said ‘the greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall’,” he said.
