D-DAY FOR MAN WHO USED FAKE A-LEVEL CERTIFICATE

IT’S D-Day for an Omni Contact employee, who forged his A-Level certificate and went on to study for a Diploma in Business Administration in Cyprus.

He will learn of his fate today.

Tafadzwa Nyatondo (28) of Mainway Meadows pleaded guilty to the fraud charge before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa, who deferred her ruling to today.

The State argued that Nyatondo’s actions tarnished the role of ZIMSEC in administering the local examinations system.

Nyatondo’s accomplice, Molyn Mugodi, has already been arrested.

Several ZIMSEC O-Level, A-Level and tertiary institution certificates, including Nyatondo’s, were retrieved from Mugodi’s computer and sent for authentication, where they were confirmed as forged documents.

Investigations reveal that Nyatondo, whose highest qualification is O-Level, approached Mugodi through her accomplice, Admire Manyemba, to facilitate his application to study in Cyprus.

Nyatondo paid US$350 to Manyemba for the fake documents to be doctored in his name.

He left the country in January 2021 for his studies in Cyprus and returned in September 2022 after completing his diploma.
