ZIFA Southern Region Division One side FC Talen Vision must be enjoying the good performance of one of their star players and vice-captain Stanley Dalamakunda who has had a fine start to the season.

The 21-year-old centreback has been solid at the back and has also been backed up by the presence of the much experienced goalkeeper Kelvin Nyoni.

He is the highest scoring defender in the league with five goals, one behind Mountain Climbers’ Lameck Mafu who has six and is the league’s top scorer.

“I am confident with myself inside the field and I believe that in as much as my job is to defend for the team, I can also get goals,” said Dalamakunda.

Talen Vision sits on third position with 40 points, six behind the log leaders Arenel Movers after the 18 matches that have been played.

They also have the third best defensive record, having conceded nine goals so far.

Dalamakunda has featured in 17 matches so far, contributing 13 clean sheets and has also had a great outing in the team’s recent 2-1 home victory against fourth placed Ciwu.

“I am happy that we managed to win but at the same time I am also disappointed that we did not manage to keep a clean sheet, especially at home,” said Dalamakunda.

Their victory against Ciwu meant that they remain within reach of the high-flying Arenel side who have been unbeaten so far.

Stanley, who is also nicknamed Ramos said that the nickname comes from the fact that former Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain defender Sergio Ramos is his role model. He also said that his local idol is Obey Mwerahari.

He has previously played for Bosso90, BJM Academy, Chinhoyi Rangers FC and was part of the squad that helped Greenfuel FC to gain promotion to this year’s Premiership campaign.
