Upcoming Zimdancehall artiste Albert Chirozva, aka Muffcat, was on Tuesday summoned to the Harare Civil Court by his wife who was claiming $390 for the upkeep of their two children.

Alice Chitombo claimed the artiste was neglecting their two children yet he was employed as a musician.

He is failing to provide food, clothes, school fees, rentals and medication for the child, she said.

Chitombo told Harare magistrate Trevor Nyatsanza that Chirozva was doing shows and getting $150 per week.

He is employed at Victory Mind Studios and is also a producer realising $1 500 a month .

Chitombo said Chirozva was capable of paying the $390 considering his earnings.

“We started living together as husband and wife in 2008 when I was 16-years”, said Chitombo.

Chirozva offered to pay $80 saying he was unable to contribute $390 per month.

“I am an upcoming artiste and I do not have fixed shows but I can afford to contribute $80 for the two children per month, he said.

Magistrate Nyatsanza then ordered Chirozva to contribute $80 per month for the two children.
