Dancehall musicians invade Mbare

Arts Correspondent
A BATTLE for supremacy looms when over 20 dancehall chanters clash at Stordat Hall tonight for what has been dubbed “Zim Dancehall taking over”.  Top Mbare chanters Soul Jah Love, Killer T and Kina T are expected to headline the event that will see Lady Squander, Gary B, Sir Calaz, Shinsoman, Freeman and Templeman among others participating.

It will be a night for these chanters to prove their ability to please fans.

Also expected are Mostaff, Kina, Sunshine Family, Crystal, Mega Force, Prince Spice, Magical and Bounty Lisa.

Killer T, Soul Jah Love and Kinna T will be playing in their own background and the young artists are expected to line a number of their chart toppers in their own home area.

Jekie Dzambatsa , who is putting the show together, said there was a lot in store for those that love Zimbabwean dancehall music.

“This show will double as Killer T’s welcome back show from the United Kingdom and a lot is expected on the day,” he said.

He added that they have tightened their security to get rid of their past mistakes. Early this year a dancehall show was held at the same place and pandemonium marred the gig.
