Italy’s Luciano Darderi won his second ATP title in as many weeks on Saturday with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Spaniard Carlos Taberner in the Umag final.
World number 46 Darderi continued his fine run on clay following last week’s triumph in Bastad and maintained his perfect record in tour-level finals as he collected his fourth career title.
The 23-year-old Darderi is one of just three men with three titles or more this season, joining Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Bublik, who also won his second consecutive trophy in Kitzbuehel on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Alexander Bublik won his second successive tournament in Kitzbuehel on Saturday as he overpowered Arthur Cazaux 6-4, 6-3 in the final.
The Kazakh world number 30 beat Cazaux for the second week running, having knocked the Frenchman out en route to the title in Gstaad.
Bublik, 28, has won three of his last four events following his triumph on grass in Halle, which preceded a disappointing first-round Wimbledon exit.
