BULAWAYO Metropolitan Province Darts League players are expected to use tonight’s league matches as part of their preparations for the weekend’s Townsend and Butcher tournament. Eight league matches have been lined up for this evening. League organising secretary Lethukuthula Nkomo believes that players will give their best ahead of the weekend’s doubles tournament which has total prize money of $300.

The Townsend and Butcher competition will be held at Highlanders Clubhouse.
“The stage is set for the Townsend and Butcher Darts Doubles Tournament but before that we have league matches and we hope that players will use the matches to prepare for the weekend competition. We are grateful to the sponsor and I am sure that we are going to have a good tournament,” said Nkomo.

The winners of Saturday’s tournament will walk away with $80 with the runners-up getting $60 while losing semi-finalists will get $40 each.

Nkomo said they have spiced up the tournament with the first team to score 180 getting $10 while the first bull-close has a $15 incentive.
