Harare Bureau
SIX Zimbabwean sides have been invited to participate in the 7th Zone VI Mines Darts Championships to be held the Oakney Recreational Club at Sun City in South Africa from 20-23 November. In an invite, the Zone VI Darts Confederation said they were pleased to invite national mines darts teams for this event.
“Every country is entitled to field six teams regardless of gender composition,” they said.
Meanwhile, Jewel Arrows continued with their fine run in the Harare Province Darts League when they accounted for Snipers by 23-16 in a mid–week match.
The top-of-the-table clash saw both teams, which are on first and second place, square off.
Snipers had suffered four defeats going into the game and it was the former who emerged victorious.
Jewel Arrows are on the verge of repeating the 2008 feat when they were last crowned champions.
The Arrows are nine points clear of second-placed Snipers who are tied on points with 2012 champions Seed-Co.
Seed-Co cannot be ruled out as yet as they have lost only twice on their way to be crowned champions last year. In the current campaign the reigning champions have only lost once despite playing a few games.
The other match saw Police accounting for City Snipers 19-20.
The matches will continue tomorrow.
