BULAWAYO firm Davis Granite will jointly hold a fundraising sports fun day with Sizane High School to support pupils that have lost loved ones to the HIV/Aids pandemic.
The one-day event, which is in its eighth year, will be held at Sizane High and will feature over 200 participants in different sporting disciplines that include football, netball, tug-of-war, darts, chess and volleyball.
Davis Granite sports day convener Veronica Stanley said: “The vision of this event is to help orphaned children at Sizane High that have lost loved ones due to the HIV and Aids epidemic, and to make our youths aware of HIV.”
Sizane High will be joined by Christian Brothers College (CBC) among the schools, while Daltabs, Donny Strikers, AG Hotspurs, Cuban Doctors, Phelandaba Strikers, Davis Granite, Delta Beverages, Zimbabwe Republic Police and National Foods are some of the organisations that will join the fun.
About 14 teams have registered for football, nine for netball and six for darts.
Nine teams will lock horns in the tug-of-war and four teams each will do battle in chess and volleyball.
