ZIMBABWE women cricket sides will today enter day six of their camp ahead of their South Africa tour set for next month. Team manager, Caroline Nyamande, says the camp has been a success so far. The 22 players have been under the guidance of Trevor Phiri. “If you look at the Zimbabwe women’s team, the level is not where the South African side is and, therefore, we need to spend more time on the field to try and improve,” said Nyamande.

“We are still growing and we are happy that most of the players have realised that, we have been in camp since Sunday and we are expected to finish this weekend. In this camp we have the both the provincial squads and the national team. We divide the teams into two, during training, and I believe that the chances for us to come up with a good team are high.”

Nyamande said they had also been invited by South Africa to take part in a Triangular Cricket Series against the Easterns.
