The Zimbabwe Association of Dairy Farmers (ZADF) is a farmer representative body that represents and advances the interest of dairy farmers in Zimbabwe.
ZADF is highly committed to advancing its main goal, which is promoting and developing the production of milk and dairy products in Zimbabwe.
The association is a one-stop shop for dairy-related information ranging from, input supply, production, financing, markets and many other aspects.
ZADF is also actively involved in lobbying policymakers, departments and agencies, to protect and serve the interests of dairy farmers. It provides pluralistic advisory and extension services to all classes of farmers ranging from dairy breeding, nutrition, animal health, general dairy management, good dairy practices, among other services that may be requested by farmers from time to time.
Together with other value chain players ZADF is working towards implementing the Dairy Sector Strategy to ensure national milk sufficiency.
The dairy sector strategy draws its mandate from national priorities and goals and is aligned with Government key strategies including the National Development Strategy (NDS1), the Agricultural Food Systems Transformation Strategy and the Livestock Development Implementation Strategy (LDIS).
These strategies seek to boost dairy productivity to meet and surpass the national milk demand.
This ZADF will today join the rest of the world in celebrating the World Milk Day.
This year’s theme will focus on celebrating the vital role dairy plays in delivering quality nutrition to nourish the world.
Local celebrations will be held in Masvingo town. All farmers and dairy stakeholders are invited to attend.
With this said, ZADF wishes to acknowledge and applaud all stakeholders in the dairy sector for the work they are doing to ensure that we all have a glass of milk on the table each day. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to the country’s dairy farmers who keep our industry running.
#MILK the first proper meal we all got to know . . .
