De Jonge seeks to upset Blanks

The golfer was tied on fifth place with several other golfers in the US$4,5 million tournament.
The tournament is being held at the par 71 TPC Deere Silvis III Golf Club.
De Jonge is showing good form after making the cut last week at the TA&T tournament.
He eventually finished in 46th place.
United States golfer Blanks was leading the first round after an eight-under-par 63.
In second place were Steve Marino, Davis Love III and Mark McQuillan, who were on seven under 64.
De Jonge, who seemingly always makes a promising start before fading away, shared fifth place with Kyle Stanley, Mark Wilson, Charles Hewell, Josh Teater, Lee Janzen, Steve Stricker, D A Points, Paul Goydos, Cameron Percy, Cameron Beckman, Chez Reavier, Jim Herman and Zack Johnson.
Meanwhile, the Chapman Grand Slam tees off this morning with several top amateurs expected to take part in the event.
The annual event usually draws a full field with the entire amateurs taking part in both teams and individual events.
Chapman has improved in terms of course condition this year.
The tournament will start with a two-round 36-hole show today before ending with 18 holes tomorrow to make up the 54 holes.
