ZIMBABWEAN golfer Brendon de Jonge will make his debut at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, South Africa this morning.
The event is the second African tournament that de Jonge will be participating in this season.
This year’s Nedbank Challenge has full European Tour status and counts towards world rankings, Ryder Cup points and the tour’s Race to Dubai money list.
The invitational event also has been expanded from 12 to 30 players and the prize money increased to $6,5 million, although the winner’s share is unchanged.
The burly golfer has been in good form and finished 16th pat last week’s Alfred Dunhill Championships in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
But de Jonge will be descending “home” when he takes part at the expanded Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City from tomorrow until Sunday.
The 33-year-old has competed in three US PGA events for 2014 season so far, racking up a total of $101,158 and is currently ranked 94th.
