Dead body found in sewer manhole

POLICE in Bulawayo have appealed to  members of the public to identify the body of a woman who was found dumped inside a sewer manhole at an open space between Pumula East and Pumula South last Wednesday .

Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said the woman is believed to be in her 20s. She was wearing a navy-blue skirt, long sleeved bluish sweater and a pair of white All-Star shoes size four.

He said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition hence no injuries were noted due to its state.

It was ferried to United Bulawayo Hospitals mortuary for post-mortem and is awaiting identification.

“On the 2nd of September 2021 police received information from BCC plumber that there was a female adult body dumped inside a sewer system with no injuries. The scene was attended by Bulawayo police and fire brigade who retrieved the body.

It was in an advanced state of decomposition. We urge members of the public who are looking for the missing female around 20-30 years to go to United Bulawayo Hospital and identify the body,” said Insp Ncube.
