HAVING made her debut for the Lady Chevrons on Wednesday, Olinda Chare says she feels she is now ready to play at the highest level of the game.
It was a landmark moment for the 17-year old who revealed that her debut came as a surprise.
“I wasn’t expecting to play.
“It was an exciting moment for me and I am really excited to be given this opportunity,” she said.
Chare was part of the Zimbabwe U-19 national team which toured South Africa in 2022 before representing the country at the inaugural ICC U-19 Women Cricket World Cup.
Chare describes the transition from the Young Lady Chevrons to the Lady Chevrons as a great opportunity for her in the growth of her career.
“It is a great opportunity for me to represent my country at the highest level and to play among the senior players,” said Chare.
She was born in Shamva.
“At first, I didn’t expect that I would play in the senior team but I think I’ve worked hard to be here and I am happy to be where I am today,” said Chare.
Chare was one of the nine U-19s who played for Zimbabwe A at the Kibukwa Tournament in Rwanda.
She took part in September’s ICC U-19 Women World Cup Africa Qualifiers.
