PREMIERSHIP débutantes Nichrut and Mutare City get their initiation into the elite division when they clash at Mandava tomorrow.
Nichrut will become the first team from the scenic town of Shurugwi to play Premiership football.
The Shurugwi side will be banking on the likes of veteran defender David Boriwondo, who has some Premiership experience to help them.
“We are playing against a team coming from Division One, just like ourselves and we just have to do our best to collect maximum points,’’ said coach John Nyikadzino.
“It will not be any easy game, Mutare have had a very good pre-season and we need to be at our best to collect all points.
“Starting the campaign with maximum points will give the boys a lot of confidence, we are playing against a team that is also eager to start well, so it is going to be an exciting game of football.
“Though it will be tough, I can say we are ready for the task and I urge supporters to come in their numbers to cheer the team.’’
Mutare City coach Joseph Takaringofa said they wanted the full points.
“We are going there to play for maximum points and we will do our best to collect all points.
“Without taking anything away from the opponents, I can say our team is ready and basing on our preparations we have the capacity to win away,” said Takaringofa.
