Declarations work with fellowship

LAST week I spoke to you on the power of declaration. We saw that words are powerful ― they are containers of either good or evil for our lives, family, surroundings and what we desire in life. Today I will share with you on how to make your declaration powerful and effective.

With this key you can be able to influence and turn around your hopeless situation into a testimony ― one that will encourage others and cause them to ask and wonder, “how did you do it?”

Declarations work with fellowship or relationship.
The greater your relationship; the greater your declarations.

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on earth by the space of three years and six months.

And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit’ James 5:17-18.
Elijah the prophet of God went in before king Ahab and declared that there would neither be rain nor dew in Israel for three-and-a-half years until he (Elijah) had spoken. What was Elijah’s secret and such boldness that he declared such a supernatural thing?

Friend listen to this, Elijah was somewhere before he came out to make a declaration before Ahab.
Ooo I like this, watch what he says his declaration ‘ .  . . as the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years but according to my word’ 1 Kings 17:1.

Elijah did not just speak a declaration like one can just say ‘O I want to be a manager, I want to be a manager’, but without the relationship with the God that makes it possible for one to become a manager at work.

If you are believing God and declaring a t-shirt in your life you may not need that much of a deep fellowship with God ― it will come but if you begin declaring say a double storey ― friend, you need to be in connection and relationship with the God that can do such things in life.

Elijah before talking to Ahab was first standing in the presence of the Lord and was still in the presence of the Lord.
They had talked about it with the Lord in his presence.

He had prayed before as indicated in the text above from James that ‘he prayed earnestly that it might not rain . . . but in the book of Kings we just see him make a declaration.

Friend the secret to making declarations that come to pass in life is relationship with God.
Fellowship with Him in prayer and your declarations about your life, marriage, business, church and family will come to pass. Have a relationship with God.

Obedience is also a key to building relationship with God and seeing your declaration come to pass.
After declaring Elijah was instructed by God to go by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

He could have argued or reasoned that how can I survive this drought there in the bush alone?
But No, the man obeyed and went as God commanded ― only to find a brook of water!

Twice in a day he saw ravens come to drop him bread and meat to eat!
Ooo hallelujah!

When you are a man of declarations ― obey!
Whatever God tells you to do, do it.

If he tells you to rejoice, just rejoice and you will be surprised to find that troubling back ache, healed!
Hallelujah!

We also see that fear came in, to Elijah after the declarations he made. Fear not; just obey the Word of the Lord.
Relationship is built by communication.

I have seen some Christians who get in prayer and all they do is spend time praying, praying and praying and they go.
Listen friend, relationship is built by communication and communication is talking to one another ― one talks whilst the other listens and the other will also talk whilst the other yet listens.

Communicating with God is two ― way. You talk to Him and He talks back to you.
You young men that want to marry you do not just go to a young lady and say Ndinokuda (I love you!) once and give up when she says No and you just say Ok!

No you do not do that; you do not quickly give up.
You communicate; you find many nice words to express yourself and get her consent.

If it is like that and works with a human being how much more with the Creator. It works.
Friends, communicate with God, fellowship with him and the declarations of your mouth shall be strong and come to pass. The deeper your communication, the stronger your relationship and the greater your declarations!

You don’t just declare that a nation will have no rain without a relationship with the God of miracles – who locks and releases rain from the heavens!

You could have been a Christian for five years, declaring things but seeing no change, fruit or result – it’s time you work on your relationship with God.

In our days as young men I remember how we would get so hungry and desperate for relationship with God so much such that we would spend nights in the bush or mountains, praying and seeking the face of the Lord.

Little did we know that it was a key that would grow our relationship and walk with God. Communicate with God, fellowship with Him.
Finally your relationship and communication with him does not just spring ― it takes commitment. If you are a musician for example besides praying and spending time with God you also need to be committed.

It can even mean spending hours, singing, praying, singing, praying, practicing!
Do not live your Christian life like someone on pension ― who no longer works but gets a bit of money here and there. As a Christian you need to give something and do your part. Give God time.

Do not retire talking to Him or serving Him.
Elijah was a man with like passions and a nature like all of us, yet he prayed earnestly and God heard him.

He lived and did great things in history through fellowship with God.
Fear not, you can also do it! You can achieve it, you can have it! ‘For with God all things are possible!’ — Mark 10:27.
