VETERAN midfielder Danny ‘Deco’ Phiri has said he will use his experience to help Bulawayo Chiefs fulfil their ambitions.
Phiri joined Chiefs from DStv Premiership side, Golden Arrows, where he spent five seasons and made 80 appearances.
The 33-year-old comes in as a direct replacement of Kelvin Madzongwe, who recently joined CAPS United.
Phiri previously played for Bantu Rovers and Chicken Inn on the local scene.
Phiri said Chiefs were a good club, with a lot of ambitions, and he hopes to use his experience to help them.
“Chiefs are a good club with good ambitions and I’m hoping to help them achieve them by adding my experience to an already good team.
“The mood has been great so far.
“The coach has played a big role in helping me adapt and, besides, Bulawayo is home so all I have to do is work.
“I want to help the team achieve its goals and add all the experience that I have.”
Phiri said the Castle Challenge Cup against FC Platinum next month is going to be key to their new season.
“The Challenge Cup is going to be a good test of our readiness for the new season.
“It would be a great experience since the team is rebuilding, and of course, it’s every player’s dream to win trophies and that’s what we to aim to do,” said Phiri
